Ram Dass: “Our actions and states of mind matter, because we are so deeply interconnected…”
Oct 1st, 2008 by Jill
“Remember, we are all affecting the world every moment, whether we mean to or not. Our actions and states of mind matter, because we are so deeply interconnected with one another. Working on our own consciousness is the most important thing that we are doing at any moment, and being love is a supreme creative act.” –Ram Dass (by way of Rob Brezsny)

Well, Jill, I’ve heard this philosophy before, from others in their own words. I can agree with this.
It’s vague enuf to allow open specific application to each individual, but with the ultimate outcome fixed toward a positive contribution to the individual & society.
Simple & to de point. Still, too many of us don’t seem to get it. So, we build walls or allow barriers to remain to divide us.
And, let’s remember the greatest of all this is Love & Truth. With step-families, keeping these ideas in the forefront would make life easier.
PS: I’ve finally decided on a camera, Jill! Not a Canon like yours but a Panasonic Lumix. Hope it’s true to me & I end up fallin in with love it….
Very important quote to remember. Simple way to put what so many of us try to say. Thanks.
Amy
She lives!
I’ve missed your tidbits of logic!

Beautiful quote, and I love Ram Dass I have seen him speak a number of times. I thought I would share something beautiful with you and our readers – a documentary about the Dalai Lama’s mother: The Great Mother. You can see trailers, find out when it shows on PBS, and buy copies at that site. Her life story is really interesting and the film is also about motherhood and the great mother archetype in general so a wonderful watch. I was particularly touched by the candid interviews with the Dalai Lama, and the credit he gives to his mother for his life and position. He says that mother is older than religion, and that it is from mother that all religions are born.
