G’s parents have been visiting from out of town. Last night we all stopped by Kathy’s house, and as the grandparents were saying goodbye to Chris and Jack, Jack yelled out, “Group hug!” We’ve never done this before, as long as I’ve been in the clan, but we all circled up: G, me, Jack, G’s dad, G’s mom, Kathy, and Chris. Kathy called Sam the dog over, and he turned in circles between us all, enclosed in the circle of our legs.

no picture of the group hug?
I know, it’s hard to believe!
(We don’t post pictures of the kids — and generally not of other family members, either — here, though.)
What great memories you are creating for the boys. How cool is it for Jack to have thought of it in the first place? You don’t know how lucky you all are to be living in harmony.
That’s great! I love that Sam was in the middle.
