Weekend finds
Nov 17th, 2007 by Jill
- My favorite find of the weekend: DivorcingDaze. Two women, both named Laurie, live in the same building in New York. One of the Lauries is a divorced mom, and her kids’ dad — who she co-parents with — also lives in the same building. The other Laurie is a gay woman who it sounds like (I’m still listening my way through their podcasts) has also been divorced in the past. Every couple of weeks the two Lauries take turns going to each others’ apartments and talk about co-parenting, divorce, girl stuff and their love lives.
- Lisa Stone (mom, stepmom, and co-founder of BlogHer)’s post, Of Sex, PTA Politics and Mommy-guilt: Got a question for Julia Louis-Dreyfus?, turned me onto The New Adventures of Old Christine, a newish sitcom about a divorced mom — played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus — who gets along with her son’s dad and his girlfriend. Here are a bunch of clips on YouTube.
- The Manic Mommies videoblogged the same meeting with the writers and actors of The New Adventures of Old Christine that Lisa Stone posted about. They also recently interviewed a mom named Catherine, “an engaged mom of two who shares with us the realities of divorce, blending families and the excitement of marriage the second time around.” (Catherine’s interview starts at 25:41 in the podcast).
